In fact, the development of this new port basin to the south of the then-current commercial port, allowed the upgrade of the docking capacity of Formia.<\/p>\n<p>The project configuration was defined by the construction of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>an overflow dam made with precast reinforced-concrete revetments for a length of about 1100 m;<\/li>\n<li>a breakwater quay made with poured-concrete method.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The work also included the partial embarking, reshaping and docking of the existing external breakwater dam.
