The acoustic mapping concerns the major road infrastructures managed by Milano Serravalle &ndash; Milano Tangenziali S.p.A which have more than six million vehicles per year.&nbsp;Its elaboration followed all the requirements stated in sector-specific regulations and European guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>PROJECT CHARACTERISTICS<\/p>\n<p>Taking into account the normative references, the study was set in 5 wide stages:<\/p>\n<p>1. Determination of the area: the size of the investigation area is not defined in advance but on the basis of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The actual traffic flow;<\/li>\n<li>Infrastructure typology (trenches, embankments etc&hellip;);<\/li>\n<li>Territory topography;<\/li>\n<li>Number and type of placed receptors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2. Noise indicators and source emission spectra: it was evaluated the weighting associated with the equivalent noise levels as a function of the time of day (LDEN).<\/p>\n<p>3. Orographic characterization of the involved areas: definition of the three-dimensional mesh concerning land and buildings.<\/p>\n<p>4. Noise indicator calculation using simulation models: code implementation in accordance with the requirements of EU guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>5.
