PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The objectives of the project under consideration originate from Resolution No. 36 of March 16, 2010, by which the Rome City Council adopted the Sustainable Mobility Strategic Plan with the overall objective of “helping to provide an orderly and effective structure to the transport system”, through short- and long-term strategic actions.

The project tramways have a strong “innovative” character compared to the standards of the historic tram network of the city of Rome, both for the design solutions adopted and for their operation.

The project interventions regarding Lot 4 – M2 – 15 “Anagnina (MA) -Tor Vergata-Torre Angela fast tram line” are planned within the municipality of Rome Capital, and specifically, the project route crosses Municipalities VI and VII.

The project interventions regarding Lot 4 – M2 – 25 “Giardinetti-Tor Vergata-Scambiatore A1 Sud Tramway Line” are planned within the municipality of Rome Capital, and specifically, the project route crosses the Municipio VI.

The project interventions regarding Lot 5 – M2 – 28 “Southern Marconi Tramway Ring Road-Appia Antica Park-Subaugusta” are planned within the municipality of Rome Capital, and specifically, the project route crosses Municipalities VII, VIII, IX, XI and XII.

The Study aims to describe the interventions subjected to the EIA test procedure and to evaluate the potential effects on the environmental components that could be affected, predicting any appropriate mitigation interventions.
