Environmental Studies and Design for the PFTE – Ufita Logistics Platform Activation. Apex Doubling – Hirpinia – Orsara – Bovino (AV) – AV Railway Line Naples – Bari

The interventions covered by this service are part of the broader project to build the new Valle Ufita intermodal logistics platform dedicated to freight traffic coming from both directions of the Naples-Bari high-speed/high-capacity line currently under construction.

The construction of the new “innovative” freight terminal, designed as a “head” facility, is planned in the Municipality of Ariano Irpino, near the future Hirpinia station, approximately 1 km north of it; the new HUB will consist of a square specifically used for freight traffic serving Valle Ufita and the surrounding areas, such as to ensure intermodal transport thereof.

The terminal configuration will ensure innovative management of freight traffic in transit from the HUB. The project involves the construction of non-electrified tracks served by hybrid locomotives and features areas with installed photovoltaic systems, sized to allow the movement of goods by electrically charged vehicles.

The project falls entirely within the Municipality of Ariano Irpino, in the province of Avellino, in the Campania Region, and is part of a predominantly agricultural context in the Ufita Valley.

The localization of the logistics platform saw a complex process of evaluations based on the opportunities and needs of the territory

As part of this intervention, VDP provided the client with its advice on the following services:

  • Preliminary plan for the on-site use of excavated earth and rocks;
